South Pacific Regional Expert Meeting

The South Pacific Regional Expert Meeting, organised by the Indigenous Rights in the Commonwealth Project, held at the Raffles Gateway Hotel, Nadi, in the Fiji Islands, October 15th-16th, 2001, was the first of four consultative meetings to be held in the Commonwealth during the three year project. The expert regional meeting brought together Indigenous peoples and organisations, and experts in Indigenous issues from Australia, Fiji, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Vanuatu and New Caledonia.

Regional Expert Meeting

The South and South East Asia Regional Expert Meeting, organised by the Indigenous Rights in the Commonwealth Project, held at the India International Centre, New Delhi, in India, March 11th-13th, 2002, in association with the Indian Confederation of Indigenous and Tribal Peoples (ICITP), New Delhi, was the second of four consultative meetings to be held in the Commonwealth during the three year project. The expert regional meeting brought together Indigenous peoples and organisations, and experts in Indigenous issues to discuss Indigenous rights in India, Bangladesh, Malaysia and Sri Lanka.

Africa Regional Expert Meeting

Indigenous Peoples of Africa Coordinating Committee (IPACC),

October 16th-18th, 2002

The Africa Regional Expert Meeting was the third of four consultative meetings to be held in the Commonwealth by the Indigenous Rights in the Commonwealth Project, in association with the Indigenous Peoples of Africa Coordinating Committee (IPACC). The meeting was held at IPACC, Cape Town, South Africa, October 16th-18th, 2002. The expert regional meeting brought together Indigenous peoples and organisations, and experts to discuss Indigenous rights in South Africa, Botswana, Namibia, Kenya, Nigeria, Uganda, Tanzania and Cameroon.

Americas & Caribbean Regional Expert Meeting

Hotel Tower, Georgetown, Guyana,
June 23rd-25th, 2003

The Americas & Caribbean Regional Expert Meeting will be the fourth and last consultative meeting to be held in the Commonwealth by the Indigenous Rights in the Commonwealth Project.The meeting will be held in association with the Amerindian Peoples' Association (APA) and the Iwokrama Centre. The meeting will be held in Georgetown, Guyana, June 23rd-25th, 2003. The expert regional meeting will bring together Indigenous peoples and organisations, and experts to discuss Indigenous rights in Guyana, Canada and Belize.
